Everything stops for tea, it’s long been noted and sung 🎶 ☕
And the delightfully creative crew at The Afternoon Tea Label are steeped in appreciation of a fine cuppa. Afternoon Tea, brewing sister to Ophelia Syndrome, the sweet Hamiltonian band friends with Allison Crowe and band since their first cross-country tour earlier this century, shares this cultural mission of discovery:
“Enjoy High Tea with our Afternoon Tea Artists. This is our chance to introduce our artists, and their work, all while drinking your cup… It will include artist profiles, and song portraits. We can’t think of a nicer way to enjoy High Tea, then enjoying, and experiencing new art. High art with High Tea”.
For a fresh Afternoon Tea, Allison’s pouring out personal favourites:
Sticky Rice Oolong: “This sweet and creamy oolong is blended with Nuo Mi Xiang – a tender Chinese herb that tastes and smells just like sticky rice” says David’s Tea.
“I Found You” – painting by Tara Thelen (born in Landstuhl, Germany, raised in the US, and now living in The Netherlands). Allison comments: “This is a piece I have in my house, done by a good friend of mine - Tara Thelen - who also provided art for my album Spiral”.
Music from the High Priestess of Soul: “And this is one of my all time favourite songs with one of the finest piano solos I’ve ever heard ‘Love Me or Leave Me’ by Nina Simone.”
Plus: “One more lump. Curated by The Afternoon Tea Crew. ‘Julianna’ off of ‘Pillars’ is our pick. Haunting. Beautiful. The perfect pick to sip with your afternoon tea brew.”
