Weir’d and wonderful – opening tonight, here’s word from Hard Ticket Theatre: “Get your tickets now for Conor McPherson’s The Weir. This modern Irish classic has transfixed audiences across the globe. Do not miss this incredible evening of storytelling.”
“A spellbinder that transfixes you… No praise in fact is too high… THE WEIR offers the most exciting evening in the theatre” – The Guardian
“In a small pub in rural Ireland, three men gather. Their normal routine is disrupted when a local man enters the pub and introduces them to Valerie, an attractive woman from Dublin who has just moved into an old house in the area. As the evening progresses, conversation drifts into the realm of the supernatural. The men share tales of ghostly happenings in the town until Valerie reveals a real haunted tale of her own from the past. The Weir is a play that examines loss, missed opportunity and the loneliness that follows. It is both hilarious and heartbreaking, haunting and beautiful; storytelling at its finest.”
Allison Crowe is Valerie – exploring with us those recesses of the spiritual and existential we may not dare visit on our own. Castmates on this voyage are: Mike Payne as Jack; Ian Locke as Brendan; Craig Haley as Jim; and Mark Bradbury as Finbar.
